Syllabus
Course Description
This course emphasizes a deeper Christian experience of discipleship by means of a more focused and contemplative reading of scripture and Christian authors, including supplementary assignments,class discussions and sermon devotional/preparation and delivery. Preaching and teaching prepared sermons is required. Students will be responsible for analyzing and synthesizing course materials into the content of their sermon presentations. Students will also be trained and encouraged to become effective leaders according to their individual style and strengths.
Prerequisites
First year ministry school recommended, not required.
Objectives
Illuminate and illustrate important biblical truths gained from a personal devotional lifestyle and systematic study of scripture as well as historical and spiritual perspectives from important Christian authors.
Develop a personal leadership style to effectively develop other leaders and disciples of Christ.
Begin developing a vision and mission for a deeper and stronger covenant commitment to the Lord that guides and informs leadership goals.

Course Requirements
10 Sermons, (1 per month), 10-20 minutes in length posted to a facebook group page or as a teaching for 1st year. Sermons or teaching should reflect an understanding of the assigned books and supplementary assignments. Attendance and participation in zoom lectures and discussions are required.
